We are a studio for architecture and design that has been working internationally for 20 years under the leadership of architect Dr. Hans P. Johnen-Karhoff. As a team of free architects and interior designers, we don't feel beholden to any particular style. Instead, we see architecture and design as a whole. Therefore, people are the focus of our work with all their senses, their perceptions and their stories.

We also focus on a personal relationship with our clients. Architecture and design is based on a number of processes, the first of which includes discussion, sensitivity and a diagnosis of needs and wants. When combined with imagination and creativity, a client's desires spring to life. Scheduling and cost control also play and essential role, of course, and many excellent projects are developed under just such constraints.

The work of our studio is divided up into two primary areas: living pools and wellness, on the one hand, and residential and interior design on the other. Our repertoire encompasses both a wellness complex many thousands of square feet in size and its smaller scale furnishings, the details of which we design with a passion. We enjoy facing new challenges, the latest trends inspire us.

To achieve our goal, we create models and material collages, work out and present clear color-coordinated plans and visualizations using the latest in state- of-the-art computer programs. Regular meetings among studio staff and visits to fairs keep the exchange of knowledge flowing.

Our branch offices are located near Aachen and in Düsseldorf, Germany. We also maintain intensive cooperation with a New York office of architects. Completed projects can be found primarily in Europe and the US, but also in Chile and Russia.
